Simply put, when my phone contract is up for renewal, I will no longer be a Blackberry customer.
It's a decision I've been debating for several months due to a number of reasons, but the recent failure of the Blackberry Internet Service has made it a much easier choice to make.
The initial reasons are a perceived lack of innovation from RIM particularly in their product design and the woeful app store. However, the final nail to this coffin is the recent outage for EMEA customers.
No emails, no BBM.
Essentially the features that Blackberry has been respected for years were non-existent. This will have irreparable damage to their brand. Of course, it may be a wake up call they desperately need to revitalise their flagging brand.
Sadly, I think it's too late.
I'm going to have to explain what a Blackberry is to my younger colleagues...
